Collective Impact: Nice buzz words or a transformative shift in how funders do business?

Water is vital to lifeThe CEGN Water Funders Group invites you to join friends and colleagues in a stimulating discussion about how funders of freshwater projects and initiatives can work together to ensure the sum of our parts add up to a greater whole.

Full agenda now available

The gathering will take place at The Old Mill in Toronto on June 9th from 9 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Please click here to register on CEGN’s conference registration page (it’s the second last item).

As with last year, we have timed the Water Funders’ Gathering to take place prior to CEGN’s National Conference. The opening reception for the conference will be at 6 p.m. on June 9th. We hope that you will be able to attend the conference, as well.

This year’s Water Funders gathering will bring together freshwater funders from across the country to learn more about each other’s work and identify opportunities and actions for deepening our collective impact. Click here for the full agenda.

An opportunity to take a step back from the daily grind

Through this fun and engaging event, we will be asking some thought-provoking and important questions about the role of philanthropy in freshwater protection:

  • Are informal networks, and conversations at annual meetings, translating into meaningful collaborations with real-world impact?
  • Are there opportunities for funders to become better organized?
  • Are we tracking the right information to know if we are making a difference?
  • What are the implications of taking a collective impact approach? What changes might funders need to institute to effectively catalyze, support and engage in collective impact initiatives?

Get out on the water!

Kayaking on the Humber RiverWe also invite you to not just talk about water but also get on the water! Arrive a bit early on June 8th and participate in a relaxing kayaking excursion on the beautiful Humber River. An informal water funders dinner will follow.
